Midwest GP Network provides access to counselling and mental health services to assist people living in rural and remote areas, including drought-affected regions.
Services are :
- Based on GP referral
- Available to all age and cultural groups
- Offered throughout the Midwest, Murchison and Gascoyne, with regular visits to various communities
- Provided by qualified counsellors – psychologists, mental health social workers and OTs
Counselling is offered for :
- Depression and post natal depression
- Interpersonal relationships
- Anxiety
- Anger management
- Grief and Loss, bereavement
- Child behaviour issues
- Parenting and family issues
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Alcohol and Drug use

- Diagnostic Assessment
- Psycho-education
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
- Relaxation strategies
- Skills training
- Case management
- Mental Health promotion and capacity building activities
- Relationship counselling
- Parenting support
Cost:
- Mental Health Services provided by Midwest GP Network are provided under the ATAPS and MHSRR programs.
- Free service, other than if using a private ATAPS counsellor where there may be a small fee
